If you are new to yoga, you might assume that yoga is about folding yourself into extreme poses, becoming an art of the flesh. You see a lot of that on Instagram, we know. But yoga is not about showing off your crow pose or your headstand. Neither is the requirement of already being flexible when you start practicing yoga. That is a myth 😉
Even though yoga will help you to become more flexible eventually, and someday you might even master that crow pose… Yoga is much more about ‘the way towards’; the journey. Each centimeter and every breath counts. Maybe you’ll never be able to touch your toes, and that’s okay. Because everybody is (physically) different. That is why there are so many types and forms of yoga; something for every moment, and for everyone's liking.

YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE
If you can breathe, you can practice yoga
The main purpose of this retreat is to bring the ancestral practice of yoga to people’s daily life. Letting you experience that anyone who can breathe can experience the benefits of yoga in their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual journey. Anything we need is already within us.
In western society the idea of yoga has evolved to something way different from the original concept. Yoga was born between India and Pakistan more than 3000 years ago as an answer to human suffering. It’s a lifestyle, full of practices and values which bring us closer to our true essence and purpose in life, supporting us to live in harmony with ourselves, the world, and others. Yoga postures (asanas) are just the tip of the iceberg within this whole philosophy.
During this retreat we will immerse ourselves in every aspect of yoga:
POSTURES: Deepen their asana (yoga poses) journey by practicing a variety of styles and learning about alignment, biomechanics and anatomy, which will help them to move with awareness.
KNOWLEDGE: Learning how we can practice yoga philosophy on a daily basis. Bringing all that knowledge from old books to our real XXI century lives.
BREATH: Experiencing the benefits and practices of Pranayama (breathing). The most important limb of yoga for many philosophers but the most forgotten.
MEDITATION: Cultivating or deepening their meditation, by promoting a daily practice and sharing its importance for our own health and for the quality of our relationships with others and nature.
You will practice and understand many different types of yoga:
Hatha Yoga (Hatha yoga is practiced at a slower pace, with focus on the breath, controlled movements, and stretching)
Vinyasa Yoga (Vinyasa yoga focuses on connecting the breath to your movements, which tend to be set at a faster pace. In a vinyasa practice, you can expect to stay in a constant flow of movements.)
Rocket Yoga (Rocket Yoga is a dynamic and fast-paced flow of yoga)
Yin Yoga (Yin yoga is a slow form of yoga for calm poses, and the asanas are held for long periods of time; three to five minutes. In this way, the connective tissue is slowly stretched and hydrated and the joints remain flexible)
Yoga Nidra (Yoga nidra, which literally means "sleep of the yogis", is a type of yoga used to prepare both mentally and physically before seeking deeper levels of consciousness through meditation)
101: Back to the basics
Being able to do a handstand is an awesome feeling. We always jokingly say that it makes us feel like Beyonce, but before you get into more intermediate and advanced poses it is very important to get the basics right. This will help you to understand and prepare you for inversions, arm balances and flexibility poses. We will help you get there, step by step. But first things, first 😉
This retreat will help you;
Gain flexibility, strength and balance
Learn different meditation techniques
Learn yoga philosophy
Disconnect and reconnect with yourself
